Ceramic Coating in Hooksett, NH

Long-term gloss and protection for New Hampshire roads — installed in our climate-controlled bay

Your paint faces road salt, UV, tree sap, bird droppings, and highway grime every week. A professional ceramic coating bonds to the clear coat so water, dirt, and contaminants release easier — and the finish stays deeper and glossier longer than wax or sealant.

At IMS Detailing, we install Ceramic Pro coatings as a Ceramic Pro Elite shop — not a high-volume wash-and-go. Every vehicle is washed, decontaminated, and prepped in our Hooksett studio before coating goes on. Drivers from Manchester, Bedford, Concord, Londonderry, Derry, and across Southern New Hampshire come here for precision installs and manufacturer-backed warranties.

Why ceramic coating (and why Ceramic Pro)

Ceramic coating is a liquid nano-ceramic layer that chemically bonds to paint (and, on full packages, plastics, wheels, and glass). It does not stop rock chips the way Paint Protection Film does. What it does exceptionally well:

If you want physical impact protection (rock chips on I-93 / Rt 101), ask about pairing coating with Paint Protection Film or Ultimate Armor.

Built for New Hampshire

Winter brine and sand, summer bugs, pine sap, and year-round UV punish unprotected paint. Ceramic coating won’t replace careful washing, but it makes maintenance easier and helps the finish hold up between seasons.

Ceramic coating vs Paint Protection Film

Ceramic coating Paint Protection Film (PPF)
Rock chips / impacts No Yes — physical barrier
UV / oxidation / staining Excellent Strong + self-healing on premium films
Gloss & easy wash Excellent Good; even better with coating on top
Best use Whole-vehicle environmental protection High-impact zones (or full vehicle)
Typical starting cost From $399–$2,199+ by package Starting at $1,200 (partial front) to $6,000 (full vehicle) by coverage

Many owners install PPF on the front and ceramic coating on the full vehicle. That’s the idea behind Ultimate Armor. Exact PPF pricing depends on coverage and vehicle size — see our PPF page or ask for a quote.

How installation works

— M · 2021 BMW

Frequently asked questions

How much does ceramic coating cost?

Packages start at $399 (Ceramic Pro Sport) and go up to $2,199 (Ultimate Ion). Ceramic Pro Ion (most popular) starts at $1,399; matte vehicles can ask about Ceramic Pro Silver from $1,199. Final price depends on vehicle size and paint condition.

How long does installation take?

Sport ~2 days; Silver, Ion, and Ultimate Ion typically 3 days in our Hooksett shop.

Which Ceramic Pro package should I choose (Sport vs Ion vs Ultimate)?

Sport is short-term / maintenance protection (6-month warranty) — good for refreshing a previously coated vehicle or a lower budget entry. Ceramic Pro Ion is our most popular choice: 7-year protection with Ion Base + Top Coat, plastics, wheel faces, and windshield glass. Ultimate Ion adds a second Ion Base layer, three glass layers, and a lifetime warranty for maximum Ceramic Pro coverage. Tell us your year, make, model, and how long you plan to keep the car and we’ll recommend the right package.

Does ceramic coating stop rock chips?

No — that’s Paint Protection Film. Many customers combine both (PPF on high-impact zones + ceramic on the full vehicle). Ask about Ultimate Armor.

Can ceramic coating go over PPF?

Yes. Ceramic coating can be applied over Paint Protection Film to add gloss, hydrophobics, and easier cleaning on top of the physical barrier. Many owners install PPF on the front (or full vehicle) and ceramic coat the rest — or coat over the film itself.

How soon can I wash after install?

Follow the aftercare sheet we give you at pickup. As a rule, avoid washing for the first several days while the coating finishes curing, then use pH-neutral soap and soft wash methods. We’ll walk you through exact timing for your package when you pick up.

Are automatic car washes OK?

Touchless washes are gentler on a coated finish than brush tunnels. Harsh brushes and aggressive chemicals can dull hydrophobics over time. Hand washing or careful touchless washing is preferred to protect your investment and warranty performance.

New car vs used — when should I coat?

New or nearly new paint is ideal — less correction needed before coating. Used vehicles can absolutely be coated; we wash, decontaminate, and correct defects as needed so the coating locks in a clean surface. We’ve been protecting vehicles since 2014 and have installed 1,000+ ceramic coatings on both new and owned cars.

Does NH road salt change anything?

Yes — winter brine, sand, and salt are hard on paint. Coating doesn’t replace washing, but it makes contaminants release easier and helps the finish hold up between seasons.

What’s included in warranty maintenance?

Ceramic Pro warranty maintenance is annual — we inspect the coating, refresh hydrophobics as needed, and keep your warranty on track. Separately, we prefer check-ins every 3–6 months so salt season and summer UV don’t quietly degrade performance between official warranty visits.

Do you offer financing?

Yes — financing is available to spread the cost. Packages can start as low as $99/mo for 12 months (subject to approval; terms depend on package and credit). Ask when you request a quote, or call (603) 518-8070 and we’ll walk you through current options.

How is this different from dealer ceramic packages?

We’re a Ceramic Pro Elite shop — not a high-volume wash-and-go. Every vehicle is washed, decontaminated, and prepped in our climate-controlled Hooksett bay before coating. You get the Sport → Ion → Ultimate Ion ladder, manufacturer-backed warranties, and real prep (including paint correction when needed) — not a quick spray-on “paint protection” upsell at delivery.

Can you coat wheels, glass, and interior?

Yes on the packages that include them: Ion and Ultimate Ion include CP Plastics, wheel & caliper on wheel faces, and glass on the windshield (Ultimate adds more glass layers). Ask about Ceramic Pro LUX for interiors.

Do you come to me — is this mobile?

No. We are not a mobile detailer. You drop off at 78 Londonderry Turnpike, Unit G3, Hooksett, NH 03106 so we can coat in a controlled environment.

While your vehicle is with us, ask about PPF, ceramic window tint, windshield protection film, and Ultimate Armor.

Should I ceramic coat before or after winter in Hooksett?

Before peak brine is ideal. A bonded Ceramic Pro coating is already working when salt and sand hit — instead of waiting until spring to recover dull, etched paint. If your car already took a salt season, we still coat after proper decontamination and correction. Shop: 78 Londonderry Turnpike, Unit G3, Hooksett, NH 03106 · Mon–Fri 9–5.

How long does a ceramic coating last?

It depends on the Ceramic Pro package and how you maintain it. Sport is the shorter entry option; Ion is built for multi-year New Hampshire weather (about 7 years with proper wash care); Ultimate Ion is our lifetime-warranty package when maintained as recommended. Road salt, harsh automatic-wash chemicals, and skipping decontamination all shorten a coating’s useful life.
